FarmersWagon.org connects local food producers to their neighbors.
Our online farmers' market offers locally sourced produce, proteins, and artisan foods.
We aspire to ensure every household has sustainable access and sufficient resources to meet its members' food needs with fresh and nutritious options. FarmersWagon.org commits a portion of each order to provide equitable support to food-insecure households in our service area.
What Is Food Insecurity?
Food Insecurity is the state of being without reliable access to a sufficient quantity of affordable, nutritious food. According to recent research, based on USDA guidelines, there are currently more than 30,000 households in FarmersWagon.org's service area that live with hunger or food insecurity daily.
We created FarmersWagon.org in response to the COVID-19 Stay-At-Home order that went into effect in March of 2020. Our local farmers' market shut down to reduce vendors' and patrons' risk of contracting the Coronavirus. As national and global supply chains began to fail, we developed a regional supply chain that leverages local food producers and small businesses' ability to meet their community's needs. In doing so, we evolved the way people thought of their local farmers' market and reintroduced individuals to their neighbors.
